Rancho Hidalgo is a multi-faceted 1,300±acre  sustainable community that offers the opportunity to  enjoy the  wonders of  the  night  sky, wine, horses,  rodeo, art, music, birding, farming, and archeology all in a beautifully pristine natural setting.

The Community will be created in the true spirit of New Ruralism, preserving and enhancing the agricultural and cultural traditions of the area. We have already taken the first step by returning the farmland on the property to its original state of agricultural production, with the planting of our first 60 acres of alfalfa. Additional land will be cultivated starting in the spring with our first 20-acres of grapes for our vineyard, additional acres of forage, and organic vegetables.  Just as we have restored the agricultural heritage to the land, we intend to re-embrace the  the cultural traditions of the region and offer our residents and visitors the ability to learn about its storied past.

Rancho Hidalgo is located in Animas, New Mexico. Animas is within a 2.5-hour drive of Tucson, Arizona or two hours from either El Paso, Texas or Las Cruces, New Mexico. This region is one of the most historic and stunningly beautiful in all the Southwest. The area was once home to great Apache chiefs, Cochise and Geronimo, as well as several other Native American tribes. In more modern times, relatively speaking, this area was also the stomping grounds of such infamous characters of the Wild West as Wyatt Earp, Johnny Ringo, "Curly Bill" Brocias, The Clantons and many others. Guided hikes and horse-back rides will give residents and visitors the chance to appreciate the lasting signs of these inhabitants and to learn more about these cultures and historical figures.
